Ducati Launches 1199 Panigale R

Alas the new queen of the Superbike family has arrived. The Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Ducati launched the 1199 Panigale R at the new Circuit Of The Americas (COTA) racetrack in USA. The bike has been priced at $29,995, which is $7000 costlier than the 1199 'S' version.



The launch ceremony was ornamented by the presence of Ducati's MotoGP riders, Nicky Hayden and Ben Spies. Both of them attempted some trip over the track and accounted some entertainment to the moto-maniacs who visited the launch program. The Panigale 1199 R has been named as per typical Ducati nomenclature, where ‘R’ stands for race-replica.



Unveiling the 1199 Panigale R Ducati's official website remarks, “Unbelievable performance and technological excellence proclaim this the new queen of the Superbike family. Born of the world of competitive racing, the 1199 Panigale R is an exclusive and treasured interpretation of man's passion for the racetrack: titanium piston rods, carbon fibre bodywork, Ducati Performance racing exhaust and livery inspired by the Ducati Corse. Perfection was never so close.”



The 1199 Panigale R is wedded with a 1198cc, Superquadro: L-twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled engine. The machine produces peak power of 195 hp @ 10,750 rpm and enormous torque of 132 Nm @ 9,000 rpm. Its engine is coupled with a 6 speed gear transmission. To reduce fuel utilization, the bike has been coupled with Mitsubishi electronic fuel injection system. It has twin injectors per cylinder and full ride-by-wire elliptical throttle bodies which ensures minimum fuel injected without comprising any power loss.



The bike is moulded out of Monocoque Aluminium frame that increases stability and rigidity to the machine even at high speeds. The company has also taken care on the comfort of the rider. It is mated with a Öhlins NIX30 43mm with TiN, fully adjustable usd fork front suspension. The rear portion is coupled with a fully adjustable Ohlins TTX36 unit. Both rear and front suspension has electronic compression and rebound damping adjustment.



Need not to worry about braking as far as you are on the 1199 Panigale R, because the front has got dual semi-floating disc brakes, which has radially mounted Brembo Monobloc M50- 4piston callipers with ABS. While, the rear is wedded of a 245mm disc brake that has 2-piston calliper with ABS.



The dry weight of the machine is 165 kg and the fuel tank capacity is 17 liter, that can take the rider to good remote terrains.
