The 'MT' range of bikes from the Hyper Naked segment too is not far behind the popularity. They compete with the Kawasaki 'Z' models. The Hyper Naked segment of Yamaha is lead by MT-10 SP. Yamaha tagged this bike as ' Speed of Darkness'.
It is the flag bearer of naked performance bikes of Yamaha, based on the base model MT-10. This special version is fitted with Ohlins Electronic Racing suspension and exclusive full-color TFT instrument console. Apart from this, all mechanical and other cosmetic outfits have been retained in the special edition vehicle.

The 998cc, CP-4, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine with 4-valves powers the MT-10. This mill delivers a brutal power of 160.4 PS @ 11 500 rpm and a peak torque of 111 Nm @ 9000 rpm. It is mated with 6-speed manual transmission box, whereas the Traction Control system, Assist and Slipper clutch and the Quick Shifter system helps in harnessing and controlling this sheer power. The engine is mounted towards the lightweight Aluminium Deltabox main frame. A 43mm telescopic fork at the front and a swingarm with link suspension at the rear completes the suspension department. Stopping power of the bike remains with the 320mm dual hydraulic disc brake at the front and 220mm single hydraulic disc brake at the rear. Moreover, the bike has a short wheelbase of 1400mm for ultimate agility.

Despite the fact that it is one powerful naked bike, the forceful appearance of the bike is the most desired feature of MT-10. The bike's aggressive front mask features a compact twin LED headlight assembly. It gives the bike a 'Transformer' like robotic face. With the unique and aggressive front fascia, hefty linear torque engine and outstanding chassis agility make the MT-10 SP a definitive Hyper Naked.
