Yamaha has showcased their naked street fighter MT-03 at the 2017 Bangkok Motor Show. It is the naked version of original YZF-R3. The model shares majority of its mechanical features with the faired R3. Despite the engine and other specifications, it is strictly based on the MT range of bikes. It follows the styling principles of MT-01.
MT-03 uses 321cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which delivers 42 PS power and 29.6 Nm of torque. The mill is mated with a 6-speed gearbox and rotates the rear wheel using chain drive. It features telescopic front forks and monoshock rear suspension.
Stopping force of the bike relies on disc brakes at both the ends. ABS system is also deployed as a standard feature. MT-03 features new fuel tank pods and very simple looking headlamp cluster. In order to give an aggressive looks, it uses exposed chassis, with Blue paint scheme. The side intake pods beneath the fuel tank gives a whole new dimension for the bike.
