2013 BMW R 1200 GS Priced $15,800 in USA

BMW Motorrad USA has announced the pricing of its much anticipated 2013 BMW R 1200 GS. The all-new liquid-cooled next generation is priced $15,800 for its base model. Meanwhile, the Standard Package is offered at $16,000, Premium Package at $17,990 and Premium Plus Package is tagged at $18,870. The machine will be available for purchase through authorized BMW Motorrad dealers fro, March onwards.



The 2013 BMW R 1200 GS is powered by a 1170 cc, Air/oil-cooled flat twin ('Boxer') 4-stroke, two camshafts and four radially aligned valves per cylinder, central balancer shaft engine. Mated with a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox with helical gear teeth the bike generates stunning power of 110 hp (81 kW) at 7,750 rpm and dazing torque of 89 ft-lb (120 Nm) at 6,000 rpm. Its electronic intake pipe injection / BMS-K+ digital engine management with overrun fuel cut-off, twin spark ignition make the drive smoother like never before.



The machine is capable to go up to a top speed of 200 kmph. To ensure maximum rigidity and stability, the bike is moulded out of two-section frame consisting of front and rear sections. Need not to worry about its suspension even at the toughest terrains. This bi-wheeler is meant to be an enduro that highly suits to any tracks. Wedded with a front suspension, BMW Motorrad Telelever; stanchion diameter 41 mm, central spring strut, spring preload with 5-position mechanical adjustment and a rear suspension, Cast aluminum single-sided swing arm with BMW Motorrad Paralever; WAD strut (travel-related damping), spring pre-load hydraulically adjustable (continuously variable) at handwheel, rebound damping adjustable, the two-wheeler offers a fabulous ride experience.



It is additionally equipped with dual disc brake, floating brake discs, diameter 305 mm, 4-piston fixed calipers at front and a single disc brake, diameter 265 mm, double-piston floating caliper at rear.

The bike available in four colors- Fire Blue, Racing Red, Thunder Gray Metallic and Alpine White.
