In October 2014, DSK Motowheels sources revealed their desire to collaborate with the Italian company Benelli and launch multiple international motorcycle brands in India. And now, their dream is about to come true...
DSK Benelli India has joined hands with Keeway, a Chinese manufacturer owned by the Qianjiang Group, of which Benelli is also a brainchild. By the middle of this year, Benelli BN251/TNT250 and Keeway Blackster Cruiser would be launched in India. The other bikes from the Italian automobile house Benelli BN302, BN600i, BN600GT, TNT899 and TNT1130R would hit the Indian roads a little earlier, by February 2015.
Keeway Blackster Cruiser is a smart and sleek Street bike. This seductive black beauty, highlighted with chrome dual exhaust, is adorned with 249cc engine, V-Twin fuel injected air-cooled motor and has 19.18PS peak power at 8500rpm and maximum torque of 18.70Nm at 5750rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox for smooth transmission. Snatch away this beauty from her home for an estimated price of Rs 3 Lakh.
Another showstopper is the Benelli TNT250. This enchanting Streetbike is also powered with a 249cc single-cylinder engine paired to a 6-speed transmission, churning out 24.2HP of power and 21 Nm of torque for a smooth ride. The bike features a seat height of 780mm, ground clearance of 130mm and offers a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres. The estimated price of TNT250 is around Rs 3 Lakh.
DSK would be widening its production facility at Wai, near Pune. At present, the company manufactures 10 Hyosung bikes per day which translates to roughly 3000 units annually in a single shift. The company would be adding a new shift and a new production facility with an aim to produce 1 lakh units at the new plant. The company is also looking forward to set up Benelli dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.
