BMW Updates R 1200 RT for 2014

A tourer with next gen dynamics.

Once again touring on motorcycles goes pleasure with BMW. The German premium motorcycle manufacturer has launched the updated 2014 R 1200 RT at the EICMA event that takes place in Milan.



The all new R 1200 RT comes with a new engine that is derived from the boxer engine on the BMW R 1200 GS. At the heart it is an 1170cc engine in a boxer-twin configuration, which is capable to deliver a peak output of 92 kW (125 hp) at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 125 Nm (92 lb-ft) at 6,500 rpm. It's coupled with a 6 speed transmission.

Along with this, the 2014 edition comes with the following features:

ASC (Automatic Stability Control) and two riding modes as standard. Riding mode Pro with Hill Start Control is available as a factory option.
Dynamic ESA for optimum riding dynamics
Gear Shift Assistant Pro for smooth gear changing
streamlined aerodynamics,
Optional LED Corona Ring feature Headlight.
New three colors- Quartz Blue Metallic, Callisto Grey Metallic Matt and Ebony Metallic.
Multifunctional instrument cluster with TFT color display, BMW Motorrad Pro onboard computer and innovative audio controls.
